About
Riley

Welcome to Deep Cut Digest—an independant music blog built around curiosity, honesty, and a relentless passion for sound.

My name’s Riley. I’m 20 years old, and at its core, Deep Cut Digest is just a personal blog—something I started to track the music I love (and hate), get better at articulating why, and maybe recommend a few great albums along the way. I’m not claiming to be a professional critic or a walking encyclopedia of music knowledge. I’m just someone who listens constantly, cares deeply, and wanted a place to put my thoughts.

What began as a private ranking of 300+ albums turned into this blog—a public archive of what I’m listening to, thinking about, and learning from the world of music. Some of the content is detailed reviews. Some of it is just me trying to figure out how I feel about a record. And some of it is commentary on bigger shifts in the music industry, from streaming debates to the way artists are reinventing themselves.

At DCD, the goal isn’t to chase trends or go viral. It’s to build trust with readers by being thoughtful, curious, and authentic. Every post, whether it’s a review or an editorial, is made with care—and yes, a bit of obsession.

I want Deep Cut Digest to be a place where you can find music you’ve never heard of before, see a new angle on an album you love, or just enjoy the ramblings of a fellow music enjoyer who’s trying to turn his daily listening habit into something that lives beyond the playlist.

If you stumbled across this blog randomly—awesome. If I asked you to check it out—even awesomer. Either way, thanks for being here. Hope I can write something that sticks with you.
